About the UEFA Europa League
The UEFA Europa League is an annual football club competition organised by UEFA for eligible European clubs. Founded in 1971 as the UEFA Cup, it was rebranded as the Europa League in 2009 and sits directly below the Champions League in European club football's hierarchy. The winner of the Europa League automatically qualifies for the following season's UEFA Champions League group stage. Sevilla have dominated the modern era of the competition with seven titles, more than any other club in its history.
