About the CAF Africa Cup of Nations
The Africa Cup of Nations, officially the CAF Africa Cup of Nations, is the main international men's football competition in Africa. It was first held in 1957 and is sanctioned by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Since 1968 the tournament has been staged every two years, though recent calendar reforms have shifted its slot within the international football calendar. The current format features 24 teams in a group stage followed by a knockout round. Egypt are the most successful nation with seven titles.
